Security Information
The Tonne Software web site is designed to pass on to visitors various kinds of
technical information. The security is limited by the host server. Since no financial transactions are being made on this
site, security is of secondary concern excepting transmission of "virus" files.
(Financial transactions are made via a
secure third-party site.) Because site personnel are as concerned about this issue as anyone else, attention is paid to
this aspect.
Attempts to defeat or circumvent security features; to use the system for other than intended purposes; to deny service to
authorized users; to access, obtain, alter, damage, or destroy information; or otherwise to interfere with the system or
its operation is prohibited. Evidence of such acts may be disclosed to law enforcement personnel and result in criminal
prosecution under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act of
1996, codified at section 1030 of Title 18 of the United States Code, or other applicable criminal laws.
Privacy Information
Some information is collected and stored during your visit to this site, but this
information does not identify you personally. The host server knows:
- The domain name from which you entered our web site (for example "companyname.com" if you use a private
internal access provider or "yourschool.edu" if you connect through an educational domain).
- Your IP address, which is a number assigned to the computer you use to surf the web.
- The date and time of your visit.
- The pages you visit.
We use the summary statistics to help us make our site more useful to visitors, such as assessing what information is
of most and least interest to visitors, and for other purposes such as improving the site's design and identifying problem
areas.
This information is not shared with anyone beyond the site staff, except when required by law enforcement personnel,
and is used only as a source of anonymous statistical information.
Cookies
"Cookies" are small bites of temporary data exchanged between a web site and a visitor's
computer which enable conversation between the two machines. Cookies are neither placed on your machine nor read by this
site.
